CARL'S 1956 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL

Carl purchased this beautiful original paint of Desert Rose in 1970 even though he was in danger of having to sleep in the vehicle. This was because his wife Esther threatened that if he purchased another car you sleep in it.

Thankfully Carl didn't have to sleep in this car, but there is enough room to sleep in it. He stored the vehicle in a 80 year old neighbor's garage. I am sure Carl was very thankful for her letting him store his car in her garage.

This spent most of it's life in Texas and of course that ended when Carl purchased it and moved it across country.

I can see why Carl purchased this car even with the threat of having to sleep in it. One, the Imperial has all the options that were available at that time, like automatic windows; yes they still work. My personal favorite even though it probably wasn't an option is that he gas cap is hidden behind the passenger side tail fin and of course they very large trunk. Two he only paid $240 for the beauty.

The next best thing is the power that this "Desert Rose" has, and that s a 354 Hemi with 146,000 miles. It still looks great and runs great. It didn't just make it out of the back yard but he drove the car to the Mopars Unlimited of Arizona car show at Bill Luke Chrysler Dodge Jeep.
