EVER WONDER HOW THEY FOUND THAT CAR FOR THE MOVIE

Carl and his wife Esther purchased this 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger in 1990 as an "as is" long before they though one of their cars would be on the silver screen. The car was re-ended and totalled out by the insurance company. The car only had two previous owners and the interior is all original.

I have watched several movies with classic cars in them and wondered where did they find the car. Did they just build a bunch for the movie or find owners of the type of car they are looking for and just ask to use it.

This Swinger was able to be in the running as the possible car to be in the film because a guest named Rick Damazio from an independent film company that attended one of the Mopars Unlimited meetings.

After reviewing several cars the Swinger was selected as the car that would be perfect for a particular scene in the movie. The car is in a flash-back that the main character has. The flash-back was filmed in the neighborhood of Central and McDowell that helped place the timing of when the event occurred.

They were paid $200 dollars for the use of the Swinger in the film.
